This is the official home page for Vietnam Veterans
of America Chapter 977, Preston County, West Virginia. It is a new site that is Under Construction.
We meet the 2nd Thursday of every month at 7PM at the Reedsville Volunteer Fire Department.
Membership in the VVA is open to U.S. armed force veterans who served on active duty (for other than training
purposes) in the Republic of Vietnam between February 28, 1961 and May 7, 1975, or in any duty location between August 5,
1964 and May 7, 1975.

VVA Chapter 977 is involved in our community. For example, we participate in the Preston County
Honor Guard, providing Chapel and Graveside burial and memorial services to all veterans. We participate in local
parades with a Color Guard and float. We help load and unload food for Food Pantries in Monongalia and Preston County. We
make donations to school projects across Preston County. We have also helped families in need, as well as
youth athletic leagues. We have an excellent Associate organization with our Chapter.
Associates of Vietnam Veterans of America (AVVA) is a national nonprofit membership
and service organization. Working through the 600 local chapters of Vietnam Veterans of America,
and working independently, AVVA supports the needs of veterans, their families, and their communities |
